No other annual flowers so well for so long. There will be breathtaking scented ones, colours which glow in the sunlight and gleam in the light with soft shades to harmonise. Sow October to January indoors, or March/April outdoors and germinate at 20-30C on the surface of a free draining, damp seed compost with 3 seeds per 7.5cm pot. Place in a propagator or sealed container in a polythene bag until after germination which takes 10-21 days. Water freely during dry weather and apply well rotted manure occasionally. Regular removal of spent flowers will encourage further blooms.

A mixture of smaller flowered Heirloom grandiflora types, many dating back to the 16th century, in a wide range of highly scented colours. Ideal for adding the strongest of fragrances to your cutting or climbing garden, making this mix superb for arches, trellises and obelisks. Sow October to January indoors, or March to April outdoors. Soak seeds overnight in warm water before sowing 1cm deep, 3 seeds per 7.5cm pot. This variety has extra long stems bearing 5-6 large fragrant blossoms and has a superb colour range. Overwinter indoor-sown plants in cooler conditions such as a coldframe before planting out in spring when the ground has warmed.
